|Nirvana Ponies by Country|
Nirvana ponies are pony variants with very limited distribution. (Variants on the ponies sold in North America.)
These ponies are exclusive to certain countries because they were either only made in that country or they were only sold in that country (and made in China or Hong Kong for instance).
Ponies are listed here under their respective country. You can click on the country name for more general characteristics of ponies and extra info on country´s pony production.
Ponies with subtle variations can sometimes be identified by their hoof markings, ie MACAU, SPAIN, ITALY etc.
Ponies were exported to neighboring countries, so a MIB pony in a German language package may not be a German nirvana pony. You have to check on the package where the pony is made, or somehow get a look at the pony's hooves.
The alternate Birth Flower ponies are generally referred to as exclusive to Australia, although they were also available in New Zealand, Sweden, and Denmark

| The latest G1 ponies made are the Dutch variants released in 1995, well after the line had ended everywhere else. They are mostly based on previous ponies but with color mix ups.

German Ponies are those sold exclusively in Germany, and sometimes nearby/German speaking countries.

Greek ponies were made in Greece. Their hooves are only marked occasionally with a Greek letter. They have particularly fine eye lashes/eye liner.
Italian ponies are those made in Italy and stamped ITALY on their hoof. They were sold in Italy and other European country. So the language on their packaging varies.
In India, only the first six collector ponies were sold. The ponies were made in India, and clearly marked as such. They were made through Playskool, so the hooves are marked Funskool rather than Hasbro.
Hasbro very occasionally licensed the My Little Pony brand to Takara Tomy.

Macau ponies were made in and marked Macau, they were not sold there. (Macau is in China, somewhat similar to Hong Kong.) Only the first six ponies and Lemon Drop were made. These ponies were mostly sold in Germany, and possibly other European countries. Macau ponies are known for a few unique color combinations. Most notably Jenny,a brown and white version of Peachy.

Mexican ponies were made and sold in Mexico. Initially the ponies were licensed to/made by a company called Lily Ledy, such ponies have clear hoof marks that say "Lily Ledy" and "Made in Mexico". This company made only the first six ponies, but then their factory burnt down and Hasbro then gave the license to a company called Auriken (who also made versions of the first six).
Peruvian ponies were made in and sold in Peru. They are marked Basa, by the company who manufactured the ponies. Sometimes it also states Nova. The ponies were sold by Maxi.
Spanish ponies were made in, sold in, and marked Spain. Spanish ponies have been found in other countries, though if this due to sales in a store or people buying them on holidays is not clear. Many variations and types were made, one of the most famous and rare are the Spanish Piggy ponies. The Piggy ponies are adult G1 ponies in a "piggy" pose and have blinking eyes like the US Beddy-Bye-Eyed baby ponies.
