The piggy pose ponies were G1 ponies created in Spain by the companies Brekar and Milton Bradley (MB). The piggy pony pose resembles Spanish dressage horses both in its pose and long mane and tail. The piggy ponies have functioning eyes that open and close and have long eyelashes.

For a long time, it was thought these ponies were "fakies." It was not until one was presented mint on card that the colleciton community realized this was an actual Hasbro version. This pose is very hard to find, and ponies in this pose are quite valuable to collectors.

Brekar and MB each had their own versions of the G1 ponies. Some related to the usual ponies such as Blossom and Butterscotch, but others were completely new creations, such as Rayito and Algodoncete.

In addition, Brekar and MB each manufactured two runs of the ponies, and some of those runs had variant cutie marks. As a result, there are quite a few variants per type of piggy pony.
