Twilight Velvet is a G4 Unicorn Pony. She has gone unnamed in media, but has been named in merchandise. Her animated color scheme is meant to be a homage to Twilight from the first My Little Pony Special.

Twilight Velvet is the mother of Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor. She has made minor appearances in the show, one in a flashback showing how Twilight Sparkle got her cutie mark, and later appearances at both Shining Armor's wedding and at Twilight Sparkle's coronation as princess. While her personality is not developed in the show, the comic series shows that she had a tendency to smother Shining Armor with affection.
