Equestria Girls TV and Movies
To promote the line, full length films have been released, at a rate of one per year, followed by specials and shorts. The first two films had limited theater releases, while all movies since have debuted exclusively on television. While the films and shorts take place in the same canon as My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and reference events from the series, events in these typically have no bearing on the TV series.
The world of Equestria Girls is one that can typically be traveled to via a magic mirror portal, and is an alternate universe where human counterparts of the ponies reside. The main setting is Canterlot High, a school headed by Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna, and is the school which most of the human characters attend.
Four main films have been released. The first, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, was released in June 2013, and featured Twilight Sparkle traveling to the human world after her Element of Magic tiara is stolen. The sequel, called Equestria Girls 2: Rainbow Rocks, was released in September of 2014, and revolves around a band competition that the main characters compete in. The third, entitled Equestria Girls: Friendship Games, has the students of Canterlot High competing in the titular Friendship Games, a series of athletic and academic events, against the students of the accomplished Crystal Prep Academy. Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree has the girls spending time at Camp Everfree, which is plagued by strange magical events.
A series of three half-hour specials have been released, which together make a whole story collectively called Magical Movie Night. "Dance Magic" has the girls competing in a music video contest. In "Movie Magic," the girls visit a movie set and solve a mystery there. Finally, "Mirror Magic" has the girls along with the visiting Starlight Glimmer dealing with consequences of Equestrian magic enchanting a mirror.
Five more specials were released:
- "Forgotten Friendship" focuses on Sunset Shimmer mysteriously being forgotten by her friends.
- "Rollercoaster of Friendship" focuses on Rarity and Applejack's friendship at an amusement park.
- "Spring Breakdown" focuses on the girls going on a cruise when a storm created by the Storm King's magic appears.
- "Sunset's Backstage Pass" focuses on Sunset Shimmer and Pinkie Pie's friendship as Sunset is stuck in a time loop at a music festival.
- "Holidays Unwrapped" is a collection of stories that happen around the holidays.
Many shorts were released around the movies, some of which are just music videos. And a two season show of shorts called Better Together were also released.

Trixie is all excited to get the guitar they were fighting over, until she realizes that it is $12,000. They finally all realize that they are at the photo booth area at the same time and finally group up for a few photos before it's their time to perform on stage. Friendship Games (2015)
Equestria Girls: Friendship Games, takes place sometime during or after the Season 5 finale. Sunset Shimmer and the Rainbooms are helping the school prepare for the upcoming Friendship Games, which is held every four years against Crystal Prep Academy, who has never lost. Sunset is charged with keeping magic a secret during the games, to avoid accusations of cheating. Meanwhile, the human counterpart of Twilight Sparkle is shown as a student at Crystal Prep. Since the events of the second film, she has been studying magic, which she assumes to be an unusual form of electromagnetic energy. Feeling like an outcase at her school, she plans on furthering her research during the friendship games, which she believes will allow her to enter a independent study program. However, Twilight is forced into competing at the games by Crystal Prep's Principal Cinch, who insists on maintaining Crystal Prep's high standards and winning record.
At the games, Twilight attempts to investigate the unusual energy with a device meant to detect it. However, the device also drains and stores magical energy, eventually resulting in Twilight unknowingly draining each of the Rainbooms energy. Meanwhile, the existence of magic is revealed during the second event, as a result of Rainbow Dash ponying up after saving Sunset Shimmer from a carnivorous plant that appeared as a result of Twilight's device. Principal Cinch assumes that Canterlot High is cheating and manipulates Twilight into releasing the stolen magic as a way of evening the score. However, the magic transforms Twilight into a magically-empowered monster that seeks to understand magic, no matter the destruction. However, the release of magic also restored the Rainboom's magic. Sunset Shimmer uses Twilight's device to tap into the magic of friendship, granting her her own magically empowered form. Sunset is able to get through to Twilight, who returns to normal. Principal Cinch threatens to go to the school board, but is countered with the fact that they are unlikely to believe in the existence of magic, which would ruin her reputation. Afterwards, Twilight transfers to Canterlot High with the goal of understanding the magic of friendship.

As she waters all the plants, the plants begin singing and dancing with her and start growing out of control, since the watering can she is using has some Equestrian magic in it. She texts Applejack to help her while the plants start harassing her for more water, and Applejack turns on the sprinklers which causes the plants to go back to normal.
- The title is a mix of "My Little Pony" and "Little Shop of Horrors."
9. A Little Birdie Told Me (November 8, 2017 / January 12, 2018)
Fluttershy is taking a test in Crankle Doodle's class when three birds fly in through the window and start talking to her. Trixie sits behind Fluttershy and hears her talking to the birds, believing that they are helping her cheat. Trixie tells on her to the teacher, and Fluttershy explains that she was trying to help the birds with a problem they were having over their nests. Fluttershy then has to prove she did study by doing math equations on the chalkboard. At the end, Trixie shows up at the birds' nest asking them to help her with trigonometry.
- The title is a play on the idiom for getting information from a secret source.
10. Display of Affection (November 8, 2017 / January 19, 2018)
Rarity is working for Prim Hemline at Carousel Boutique, and is tasked with working on the window display. The pressure is too much for her and she has a creative block. She is walking with Sunset Shimmer down the street telling her about it when they see people admiring some graffiti by Flanksy. Inspired by that, Rarity tries to do a similar style with the display, but breaks down into tears and admits it is ugly when Sunset comes up. Rarity goes home crying, and comes back to work the next day to see the display was redone by Flanksy herself. Rarity turns to see Sunset Shimmer in the nearby alley with paint on her face, revealing to Rarity that she was Flanksy all along.
- Flanksy is a parody of Banksy.
- G5 My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale also does a Banksy parody with Izzy Moonbow being Sneaksy.
11. Super Squad Goals (November 8, 2017 / January 26, 2018)
The whole episode is themed like a comic book, by interspersing the episode with a comic art book style, sound effects, and interrobangs. The main characters are excited to be in the big city when they see a jewelry store thief. They power up and chase him through the city, finally apprehending him and sending him to jail. Then they celebrate with the cupcakes that Pinkie had mentioned looking forward to in the beginning. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that the whole story was a comic Sunset was making.
12. Road Trippin (December 19, 2017 / March 2, 2018)
The main characters are in a bus driven by Granny Smith and are on their way to Goldie's party. When they hit traffic, Granny takes them on a shortcut. A tire gets popped so Applejack and Twilight use their powers to replace it, a herd of cows blocks the road so Fluttershy uses her powers to make them move, a fallen tree is on the road and Pinkie blasts it, and a bridge is out ahead that turns out to just be a backdrop. But finally, they make it to the party.
13. X Marks the Spot (March 9, 2018 / April 13, 2018)
Sunset is playing a mobile game about pirates until she finds an actual treasure map in a bottle. She runs into Pinkie and Twilight and they follow the map all the way to another treasure chest with a code inside. Following that takes them to a sushi truck, and it turns out it was just a promotion that got them a discount and endless wasabi, the latter of which Pinkie takes advantage of.
14. Aw... Baby Turtles (March 9, 2018 / April 20, 2018)
Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy are at the beach when Fluttershy hears crying. She realizes it is a group of baby sea turtles but she doesn't know where they are. They try to get Tank to help but it's slow going at first. When they do find the baby sea turtles, Fluttershy realizes how many obstacles they are facing, from crabs to shipwrecks. Knowing that it would be wrong to just carry them to the water, the girls at least remove the obstacles in the way. But when they look back to where the babies were, they are gone, and it turns out Tank had already safely led them to the water.
15. Lost and Found (March 9, 2018 / May 4, 2018)
Rarity interrupts Rainbow Dash and Applejack at the beach, crying over losing an earring. The three of them use metal detectors to search and end up finding everything and the kitchen sink. Rarity is still sad, though the other two are excited about everything they found. Rarity goes to put her headphones on again to start combing the beach over again with the metal detector when the missing earring falls from its hiding spot in her hair.
- There is a joke poking fun at a Nokia phone that Rainbow Dash finds in the sand.
16. Too Hot to Handle (March 9, 2018 / May 11, 2018)
Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie are working a Crab Adoptathon event on the beach when Pinkie decides to bring them all shaved ice. She starts walking away from the shaved ice truck when she sees a kid drop his, and decides to give him one. Then she gets attacked by seagulls, one of which takes another. With her remaining two, she tries to walk back to the others but the sand is too hot. She does everything from bouncing around to flying to avoid the sand, and ends up back with the others but with the shaved ice covered in sand from her rough landing. When they point out that the crabs are too hot, she sacrifices another shaved ice cone for them. With Pinkie disappointed, Rainbow Dash uses her super speed to get them all shaved ice cones, and Pinkie accidentally drops the last when Rainbow runs back up to her.
17. Unsolved Selfie Mysteries (March 9, 2018 / May 25, 2018)
Sunset, Twilight, Pinkie, and Fluttershy take a selfie, and when they look back at the photo they think they see a sea monster in the background. They all get excited over it but Fluttershy doesn't hear an animal and decides to swim out to see if she can hear it better there. Twilight goes onto the lifeguard tower where Timber Spruce is working to see if she can spot it through binoculars. Pinkie and Sunset are about to swim out when Pinkie realizes her floatie is missing, but they have no time to do anything about it when they see the "monster" coming toward the shore. It turns out to be Pinkie's missing floatie being carried back by Fluttershy.
- The title is probably a reference to the show "Unsolved Mysteries."
- Instead of just saying "cheese!" Pinkie has them say Cheese Sandwich, in reference to the pony character.
18. The Salty Sails (March 12, 2018 / April 27, 2018)
Twilight, Rarity, and Pinkie are going out on a boat together. Twilight made plans and even plotted when exactly they would get a strong wind for them to set sail, but it turns out the wind is the opposite direction from what she wanted. It pushes them to shore, so they try to steer back on course, and end up inadvertently using Rarity's hat to catch more wind. Then they get pushed toward the rocks further out, and Pinkie causes a small explosion to create a wave that pushes them away from those. They make it back to do the dock, soaking wet, but thankfully Rarity has towels. And the whole episode, Pinkie has been talking like a crazed and/or wise old sailor.
- The title is a play on "the salty seas."
- When the episode starts and Twilight checks her map, the sea serpent they have pictured (like how many whimsical maps will have sea monsters pictured) is Steven Magnet from Friendship is Magic.
- For another G4 episode where Pinkie and Rarity and one other Mane 6 member go on a boat and end up in somewhat disaster: P.P.O.V. (Pony Point of View).
19. Blue Crushed (March 13, 2018 / May 18, 2018)
Rainbow Dash and Applejack are about to teach Fluttershy how to surf when her brother, Zephyr Breeze, shows up. He pretends he's always surfed, but Fluttershy knows he's lying. They start racing each other to save a child drowning, Lyra from falling off her surfboard, and even a scoop of icecream that was falling. They both see Bulk Biceps struggling in the water and reach him at around the same time, but start pulling him opposite directions while trying to save him. He starts crying and tells them that it is because he doesn't like that they are fighting. And they both realize they could work together and be a team, and once Bulk Biceps is out of the water they rush off to help the next person together.
21. Friendship Math (March 24, 2018 / June 1, 2018)

They fail horribly at it, so Twilight is determined to find a scientific way to prove that they are friends. She spends a while doing calculations in the sand, only for it to all get washed away in a wave. But she tells Pinkie that their friendship just "can't be measured."
- On the cover of the magazine Pinkie is reading, there looks to be a human version of Feather Bangs (from Hard to Say Anything) on the cover.
22. The Last Day of School (March 24, 2018 / June 15, 2018)
Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle are opposites when it comes to school: Twilight is bummed that school is about to be over and Rainbow Dash is excited. Twilight is rushing to write thank you notes to all the teachers and is hoping for more projects and extra credit. They get to Cheerilee's class and Rainbow Dash makes the suggestion that they watch the movie "Daring Do vs. the Swamp Monster," which Cheerilee agrees to. Then she tries to take videos of the animals while she's behind the camera, but then the animals refuse to cooperate. They get out of hand and make a mess. Twilight and Applejack show up and see Fluttershy laying down defeated, take a look at her recordings, and decide they can edit the video to fix it. 25. Five to Nine (March 24, 2018 / July 6, 2018)
MUSIC VIDEO - Applejack sings a country song about working all day on the chores and fixing up the barn for a party for her friends.

Choose Your Own Ending
Along with Better Together was a series of shorts that gave the viewer multiple options to decide how a story ends.
Season 1
The running storyline for these is the play that the girls are a part of. "Best Trends Forever," "Text Support," and "Driving Miss Shimmer" do not have any correlation to the play storyline while the rest do.
1. Best Trends Forever (December 5 / 30, 2017)
Rarity is on the school news and is about to do a segment on the latest trends when she realizes none of her material is in her bag.
- Pinkie Pie - If Rarity chooses Pinkie as inspiration and says confetti, Pinkie fills everyone's lockers with confetti. Twilight, Rarity, and Applejack clean it all up before they get in trouble with Principal Celestia. Celestia herself walks by them on her way to her office when they are done, only to open her office door and unleash a flood of confetti into the hall. So Rarity updates her forecast to be detention.
- Rainbow Dash - If Rarity chooses Rainbow Dash as inspiration and says rainbows, everyone in school wears Rainbow Dash's hair. Rarity slowly makes her way through the school, completely freaked out by everyone looking like Rainbow Dash. Then she bumps into the actual Rainbow Dash, who says "I don't know what it is, but everyone looks awesome today."
- Twilight Sparkle - If Rarity chooses Twilight Sparkle as inspiration and says that "smart is chic," all the other students will start wearing glasses and trying to sound and look as smart as they can. Some of them ask Twilight questions to help make them look smarter, and Twilight can't even get the book she wants from the library because there is a waitlist. Rarity apologizes to her, and mentions capes right before some kids walk by. They hear her mention capes and change over to the new trend immediately.
The title is a play on "best friends forever."
When Rarity is freaked out by everyone having Rainbow Dash's hair, she does a small monologue like she is narrating an episode of "The Twilight Zone" and even calls it "The Rainbow Zone."
2. Fluttershy's Butterflies (December 23, 2017 / February 2, 2018)
The girls see that a play is going to be put in and auditions are opening and decide they could try out. Fluttershy is nervous about auditioning. Rainbow Dash and Applejack see her trying to practice in the library and offer to help.
- Rainbow Dash - Rainbow makes her the announcer at a soccer game. She's quiet and nervous at first, but she starts getting into the game. She then uses that energy at the audition.
- Applejack - Applejack takes her to her chickens on the farm and tells her to pretend the audience is a bunch of chickens. Fluttershy ends up doing the audition, but tells Applejack that she just pretended everyone was her, cheering her on. Then it is revealed that Applejack's backup plan was bringing her whole flock of chickens to school, which Big Mac was dealing with.
- DJ Pon 3 - DJ Pon 3 is also at the library, and if chosen will give Fluttershy a huge dubstep entrance with smoke and lights and will have her on stage as a hologram.
3. Text Support (December 23, 2017 / February 9, 2018)
Twilight gets a text in emojis from Timber Spruce but she doesn't understand what it means.
- Rarity - Rarity takes her phone and starts texting back and forth with him. Twilight doesn't understand what they are saying the whole time, but Rarity ends it with getting Twilight a date with Timber Spruce at 3 on Sunday for ice cream.
- Fluttershy - Fluttershy leads Twilight into the woods and has her send a message with a bunch of animal emojis. Timber assumes Twilight wants to go on a date to the zoo.
- Sunset Shimmer - Twilight and Sunset go to the coffee shop and Sunset takes Twilight's phone and calls Timber herself to ask him what he meant. He explains that he was asking if Twilight wanted to go do Pirate Alligator mini golf, and Sunset hands Twilight the phone to respond to him.
The title is a play on "tech support."
4. Stressed in Show (December 23, 2017 / July 20, 2018)
The girls are practicing for the play, but Twilight is stressed out, so the girls offer to help.
- Fluttershy - Fluttershy takes her to the woods to see all the animals, but everything she says triggers Twilight into thinking of something that needs to be done with the play. Fluttershy uses her magic to gather all the animals together to give her a flower crown, massage, and a nice nap.
- Rainbow Dash - Rainbow takes her to exercise, running, playing badminton and basketball, and chopping boards. She eventually gets in shape and has fun. Sunset and Spike are also there, but exhausted.
- Pinkie Pie - Pinkie chases Twilight all over the school to bombard her with ideas. Every time, Twilight sneaks off and hides. Finally, Pinkie pops out of her locker, and Twilight confronts her about how distracting she is being. That's when Twilight realizes that Pinkie's antics stopped her from thinking about and stressing over the play all day.
5. Driving Miss Shimmer (December 23, 2017 / February 16, 2018)
Sunset failed her driving test and has to retake it Monday. She has to drive with one of her friends to practice.
- Rarity - Rarity pulls up in a limousine and starts giving Sunset advice that is more practical for the comfort of the passengers (having different drinks, music at a reasonable volume, and party lights ready). Sunset finally does practice, while Rarity gets a massage in the back of the car. Having the limo practice helps her pass.
- Applejack - Applejack and Granny Smith try to take Sunset driving in an old farm truck, but they immediately have a flat tire from a nail when they drive out of the barn. Applejack teaches Sunset how to change the tire. When Sunset goes to her test, the testing car has a flat tire so Cranky Doodle was going to automatically fail her, but Sunset shows she knows how to fix it and passes.
- Fluttershy - Fluttershy brings Sunset her little car and starts bothering her with all her safety memory rhymes before they even drive. When Sunset gets to the test, Cranky Doodle mentions the importance of safety, and when Sunset starts reciting all the rhymes, he's pleased.
The title is a reference to "Driving Miss Daisy."
6. Rarity Investigates: The Case of the Bedazzled Boot (December 23, 2017 / July 27, 2018)
The girls are practicing the play with Flash Sentry when they realize one of the two bedazzled boot props is missing. Snips and Snails were in charge of props, but aren't taking their job seriously. Rarity decides to play detective and question people.
- Pinkie Pie - Rarity goes to question Pinkie and Pinkie cries and confesses, even though Rarity points out that it couldn't have been Pinkie: Pinkie was at the frozen yogurt shop and still had the frozen yogurt in her hands. Pinkie starts confessing to random things at the frozen yogurt shop before Rarity reminds her that she is talking about the boot. Then Pinkie points out that the boot is sticking out of a box of costumes on the floor behind them.
- Trixie - Rarity interviews Trixie, already assuming that she is guilty, and decides to play tough by not speaking first. Then the two have an entire conversation only in their heads and facial expressions. They stay in silence for a while until Rarity pulls out her makeup, which Trixie realizes means Rarity can last hours longer. Trixie gives up and leaves, but trips over some rocks. When Rarity looks, she sees Spike wearing the boot and saying that he wanted to dance in it. So Rarity offers to get him a spot in the play.
- Applejack - Rarity asks Applejack and she mentions the costume rack. When they look, they see Maud holding it, with Snips and Snails providing sound effects. Maud tells them that it is made of amethyst and starts Rarity practically drooling over a fact about the largest amethyst gem. Then Sunset comes by and takes the boot.
Rarity becomes a noir detective just like she does in Rarity Investigates!
7. All the World's Off Stage (December 30, 2017 / August 3, 2018)
Sunset and the crew are practicing the effects for the play. Snips and Snails complain about heavy the city prop is when they fail to get it across the stage.
- Twilight Sparkle - Sunset thinks Twilight will use her Equestrian magic, but Twilight wants to use a robot. The robot manages to use its arms to pull the city across nicely. When Sunset says they should practice the scene again, Twilight uses her magic to put the city prop back in its starting place.
- Pinkie Pie - Pinkie fills the stage with balloons. She mounts the city prop on a pile of balloons, so that when they practice the scene, she just turns on a fan and it blows across the stage.
- Micro Chips - Micro Chips explains in so many words that they can't use a pulley to move the city prop. Snips tries to make a snarky comment and Micro Chips gets back at him. Then Micro Chips mentions that he'll get Bulk Biceps to move it, even though Sunset asked him before and couldn't get him to. When Bulk Biceps moves it, Micro Chips explains to her that he made a fake article in Bulk Biceps' magazine that encouraged him to pull ropes to get buffer.
The title is a play on the phrase "all the world's a stage."
8. Constructive Criticism (December 30, 2017 / August 10, 2018)
Applejack is the set designer for the play, but Sunset is worried Applejack won't get them all done in time. Sunset distracts her while she's hammering and Applejack ends up hammering her hand, so they need to find someone to help while she recovers.
- Rainbow Dash - Rainbow Dash comes in and does the set as fast as possible, all while Applejack is worrying that Rainbow isn't looking at the blueprints or measuring enough. But the set she creates is even better than the blueprints, and that's when Rainbow brings out Applejack's vision board. It was filled with Applejack's ideas that she didn't think she'd be able to get done for the play.
- Pinkie Pie - Pinkie drums and builds the set while drumming with the hammers. Applejack just leads her to drum where she needs to.
- Photo Finish - Applejack starts explaining to Photo Finish what she wants, but Photo Finish starts doing her own thing based on vibes. The initial look at the stage looks like she has done nothing, until they turn off the lights and it is revealed that she created the whole set with lasers.
9. Opening Night (December 30, 2017 / August 17, 2018)
The play is finally happening. Rarity plays the lead who leaves in a coal mining family/town and wants to follow bigger dreams. She finds the bedazzled boots and the story continues. It then gets to Fluttershy's part where all she has to do is ring a bell and say one line, but Snips and Snails accidentally drop the bell. Fluttershy is left standing there with stage fright not knowing what to do.
- Applejack - Applejack asks Snips and Snails for a costume but the only one they have around is a tree. She goes in and holds the bell up to Fluttershy so that she can ring it and do her line.
- Twilight Sparkle - Sunset signals to Twilight to use her magic to raise the bell. Then Fluttershy rings it and says her line.
- Sunset Shimmer - Sunset comes out and does a monologue and leads the whole crowd and cast to act out the bell ringing before Fluttershy says her line.
10. Happily Ever After Party (December 30, 2017 / August 24, 2018)
The CMC are upset because it's time for the party after the play is over, but Cranky Doodle doesn't want them to use the projector for the memory slideshow they made.
- Applejack - Applejack decides to be more stubborn than Cranky Doodle, but the whole time they are arguing the CMC use the distraction to just steal the projector. He walks into the party later and doesn't even notice.
- Rarity - Rarity treats the whole thing like a court case and points out that the projector belongs to the school, the taxpayer, and the students themselves. By the end of it, Rarity says she is confiscating the projector and they allow Cranky Doodle to join the party so he can supervise it.
- Rainbow Dash - The CMC find an excuse to get Cranky Doodle out of the classroom while Rainbow Dash snoops around the classroom and finds it. Everyone is enjoying the party, but Cranky Doodle has the CMC held up trying to teach them more math formulas.
Applejack can be seen in her tree costume from choosing her in "Opening Night."
In the Rarity option, a picture of Pinkie drumming with hammers can be seen from when the viewer chooses her in "Constructive Criticism."
In the Rainbow Dash option, the pictures show Pinkie's balloon idea in "All the World's Off Stage" and Rainbow Dash and Applejack in the Rainbow Dash option of "Constructive Criticism."
Season 2
1. Wake-Up! (June 16 / September 3, 2019)
Pinkie Pie was playing drums all night and it kept the others from sleeping well. Sunset especially is still fast asleep in the morning.
- Applejack - Applejack wakes up Sunset and has her spend all morning setting up the campsite for everyone.
- Rainbow Dash - Rainbow Dash has Sunset doing yoga, which starts easy, but gets harder. Right as Sunset is totally giving up, Rainbow Dash points out that they are in the perfect position to watch the sunrise.
- Pinkie Pie - Pinkie has Sunset eat a whole breakfast of desserts and sweets. The two of them and Spike get a sugar high, and they crash later.
2. The Last Drop (June 23 / September 6, 2019)
DJ Pon-3 is playing a set at Starswirl and a spotlight appears over Big Mac, Sunset, and Fluttershy.
- Sunset Shimmer - A old style platformer game appears on the screen behind DJ, and Sunset's phone acts as the game controller and she plays it.
- Fluttershy - The screen shows pictures of a wolf howling, and Fluttershy gets surrounded by animals. The animals add to the music and Fluttershy dances and howls.
- Big Mac - Big Mac is handed a banjo and starts playing with DJ, while digital apple imagery is shown around him.
3. Inclement Leather (June 30 / September 8, 2019)
Applejack, Twilight, and Rarity are enjoying the festival, but then the rain pours down. Rarity is upset because she is in suede.
- Applejack - Applejack tells Rarity about how to enjoy the mud, like finding worms or camouflaging to catch a pig. Then Rarity thinks about mud masks, and ends up with a mud mask by Applejack.
- Twilight Sparkle - Twilight has trash bags, which inspires Rarity to turn them into ponchos ("with fringe!").
- Vignette - Rarity video calls Vignette for help, but instead Vignette compliments her soaked hair look, which apparently is trendy.
4. Lost and Pound (July 7 / September 10, 2019)
Twilight is walking around with Rarity, Fluttershy, and Spike, and is busy looking at all their food options, when Spike bumps into a lost dog.
- Rarity - The dog gets mud all over Rarity and tries to lick her, and eventually freaks out Rarity enough that Rarity runs off and gets chased through photo booths and bushes. It turns out the dog, Princess Thunder Guts, belongs to Su-Z of Post Crush, and Rarity gets rewarded with a feather boa for returning her.
- Spike - The dog goes up to Spike, who acts all nervous like he has a crush. They do dog things together like barking at squirrels, laying in flowers, playing fetch, and even doing a reference to the famous Lady and the Tramp scene. Su-Z of Post Crush sees them at a table and takes her back, but at least Princess Thunder Guts gives him a lick before she leaves.
- Fluttershy - Fluttershy uses her Equestrian magic and talks to Princess Thunder Guts, who tells them exactly who she belongs to. They return her and go back to the food trucks.
5. Accountibilibuddies (July 14 / September 13, 2019)
Applejack is all excited to dance in the crowd for Dirk Thistleweed, but she ends up getting her foot stomped on and having to get it cared for.
- Rainbow Dash - Rainbow puts together a weird salve in a tent, which Applejack hesitates to use. Just then, Dirk Thistleweed himself walks in, with his voice hoarse, saying that he could smell the cure all. He puts some on his throat, and begins to perform right then and there. Applejack starts putting some on her own throat in her excitement.
- Pinkie Pie - Pinkie gets an idea and tosses Applejack in a wheelbarrow and carries her up a hill. From there, Applejack gets a good view of the stage. Then Pinkie disappears just to appear on stage, pushing Dirk more directly in Applejack's view, right before security jumps her and tosses her into the crowd.
- Snips - Applejack thinks Snips looks lonely without Snails, who apparently walked off right after Snips mentioned losing his ear plugs. As Snips continues monologuing about missing Snails, Applejack tries to offer to be his friend. But that is when Snails shows up, with Dirk Thistleweed, who he'd been hanging out with. Dirk lets the three of them stay backstage for the performance.
Dirk's last name is "Thistleweed," but the credits have him as "Thistlewood."
6. The Road Less Scheduled (July 21 / September 15, 2019)
Twilight has her whole day planned out on her phone, but she trips and her phone lands on Bulk Biceps' sweaty skin, ruining her phone. Spike is excited to do something unplanned, and Twilight looks for someone to hang out with.
- Principal Celestia - Twilight sees Principal Celestia and ends up joining her, Luna, and Cranky Doodle, who all have been coming to the festival for many years. They show her the secret falafel truck, take photo booth photos, and do some breakdancing, before ending the day on a hilltop watching the sunset.
- Fluttershy - Twilight chooses to hang out with Fluttershy, and finds out she is into Skullcruncher, a metal group.
- Micro Chips - Twilight sees that Micro Chips is going to see MC Dex Effex, and starts talking trivia about them with him, but everything she knows is wrong and Micro Chips keeps correcting her. When they get to the stage, Micro Chips gets up there and puts on the helmet, revealing to Twilight that he was MC Dex Effex all along.
The title is a reference to the saying "the road less traveled."
Principal Celestia mentions Twilight potentially sending her letters about what she learned at every music festival, referencing the main Friendship is Magic show's original method of summarizing the lessons.
Skullcruncher is also the name of a Transformers character.
MC Dex Effex is a reference to Daft Punk, with the helmet and music style.
7. Sock It To Me (August 4, 2019 / May 23, 2020)
Rainbow Dash realizes right before a game that she is missing her lucky sock.
- Rarity - Rarity sews a new sock right there in front of her locker, but she takes forever. The teams are tied and Rainbow Dash comes in for the final score. She kicks the soccer ball into the goal after blinding all her opponents with the shiny gems unintentionally, and her team carries off the sock in celebration, leaving Rainbow behind.
- Trixie - Trixie pulls out a lucky sock from her hat. The sock is/seems magical and starts moving Rainbow Dash around, helping her score. Rainbow takes the sock off to pull a bunny out of it.
- Bulk Biceps - Bulk Biceps has a sock he hasn't washed in six years. The smell is horrendous, and it helps her score the winning goal. When she thanks Bulk, he says it was never lucky, but that he was teaching her self confidence. And she accidentally gets too much of a whiff of the sock and passes out.
8. Tip Toppings (August 11, 2019 / July 21, 2020)
Pinkie goes to the frozen yogurt place and it turns out she is the one thousandth customer, which means she gets one free topping. She can't decide.
- Applejack - Applejack insists Pinkie has fruit for a topping, but Pinkie really wants candy. Pinkie tries to sneak on a candy cherry, and Applejack sneaks in real cherries, which Pinkie doesn't notice.
- Twilight Sparkle - Twilight tries to sample, observe, and compare the toppings to figure out the perfect one, concluding that chocolate covered walnuts are the best. But by the time they decide, the frozen yogurt has melted.
- Fluttershy - If Pinkie opens the door for Fluttershy to come in, all of her animals burst in and cause chaos. Everyone gets kicked out. A squirrel offers to cover Pinkie's frozen yogurt in acorn bits he coughs up, so Pinkie just has to give up and laugh.
9. Costume Conundrum (August 18, 2019 / August 26, 2020)
The girls get invited to a costume party at Bulk Biceps' house, but Fluttershy needs help with a costume.
- Sunset Shimmer - Sunset starts pulling out various costume pieces from her closet, finally landing on one she thinks is scary enough. Bulk Biceps sees Sunset come in and is then horrified at Fluttershy's Cthulu type costume.
- Rarity - Rarity starts throwing fabric all over Fluttershy and creates a lovely pink princess dress, before revealing that it is actually for Rarity herself. Then she pulls out a whole rack of pretty dresses for Fluttershy to choose from.
- Applejack - Applejack starts rummaging through an old chest and mentions a costume she had tried to do with Sunset before. Sunset and Rarity are already at the party waiting for them, when they see the two show up in a costume resembling G1 Posey. Sunset is visibly most freaked out when Applejack pops out of the back.
Fluttershy is playing the game from "Game Stream" (Better Together season 2 episode 7).
Sunset makes a comment in her option when she sees a fangs costume part, saying "can't picture you as a bat." In Friendship is Magic's Bats!, Fluttershy does temporarily (or maybe not so temporarily?) turn into Flutterbat.
In Rarity's option it is revealed that she has a "darling" jar that she puts a coin in every time she says the word.
G1 Posey is a fitting choice, since she was the inspiration for G4 Fluttershy's look.
