Synopsis

Sunny can't remember anything about her mom, until she finds a magical photo album.

Plot

Zipp is looking through a book of family history and is upset every single picture is of them making the same disapproving face.

Sunny sees her and Zipp remembers that Sunny doesn't remember anything about her life before she lost her mom. But just as they are thinking about it, a noise comes from the bookshelf, and a photo album titled "Sunny's Memory Book" appears.

Sunny touches the book, and finds herself pulled in. Zipp realizes that Sunny is now in her old memories, as she flips through the book and a baby version of current Sunny is enjoying time with her parents again.

Sunny relives jumping into her parents' arms, being told stories about the G4 Mane 6 by her mom, eating icecream, and more. But there is an underlying story of Sunny's mom searching for something to bring magic back, and that she never came back from her journey. Once Zipp gets to the end of the album, Sunny and a telescope falls out.

The telescope was revealed to be given to Sunny by her mom in one of the memories, and in the last memory, she and her dad were using it to look for her mom in the stars. Zipp and Sunny go to the top of the Brighthouse to use the telescope in the exact spot it was in during the memory, and, using her cutie mark magic, she sees the stars take the shape of her mom's profile.

• The title is a play on "written in the stars," for something that is meant to be.
• The ponies were also previously pulled into a book in Buried in a Good Book, and in G4 the main characters were pulled into a book in Power Ponies (episode).
