Thunderlane is a pegasus that resides in Ponyville. He was first seen in in the episode "[[Hurricane Fluttershy]]", where he was one of the Pegasi meant to participate in collecting rainwater for Cloudsdale. Though a strong flyer, he was accused of faking sickness out of laziness during training. However, on the day of the scheduled collection, Thunderlane's younger brother Rumble states that he was in Ponyville hospital, sick with the featherflu, which he had speak to at least 7 other Pegasi. 

Thunderlane was one of the privileged Pegasi to be invited to the Wonderbolts Academy. As a cadet, he is paired with other Pony, "Raindrops", and is made the lead pony of their pair. He later assists in the rescue of [[G4 Rainbow Dash|Rainbow Dash]]'s friends, specifically rescuing [[G4 Rarity|Rarity]].
