No new animation was created for Generation 2. However with this first My Little Pony revival came the first legitimate DVD releases of some of the first shows and movies of G1. Some of these releases had G2 ponies and style all over the cases and DVDs (which may had led to some confusion). Unfortunately even in G4, we are still waiting for the rest of the G1 animation to be released on DVD.
