Sunny Starscout is a G5 My Little Pony first introduced in 2021.

She is a hopeful and cheery Earth Pony, later Alicorn, who runs a smoothie stand in Maretime Bay.

Sunny Starscout is the primary protagonist of Generation 5 and was introduced in My Little Pony: A New Generation movie. She is an idealistic resident of Maretime Bay and the daughter of Argyle Starshine and an unnamed mother. After the pony tribes grew apart, Sunny still believed that they could be friends again as they once had many moons ago. With the help of her childhood friend Hitch Trailblazer, her new unicorn friend Izzy Moonbow and her new pegasus friends Zipp Storm and Pipp Petals, Sunny was able to reunite the tribes and restore the Unity Crystals, bringing lost magic back to Equestria. As reward for this, she was granted the ability to sprout magic wings and a horn, making her an alicorn.

After the events of the movie, Sunny would move into the Crystal Brighthouse with Izzy, Zipp, Pipp and her new unicorn friend Misty Brightdawn. She would spend much of Make Your Mark and Tell Your Tale hanging out with her new friends and fighting against the evil alicorn Opaline Arcana. In later episodes, she would come into conflict with the snow leopard Allura, who came to Maretime Bay in hopes of stealing the Nova Charm.

She represents the element of Hope.
