Synopsis
Hitch hurries to investigate a terrible crime: a trash can has been overturned! His critter friends try to offer him a sandwich as he works, but he is too busy and hurries away. As he returns to the police station, he is overwhelmed by a deluge of phone calls from citizens reporting thefts. Zipp drops by and suggests that Hitch get a new deputy. (Sprout seemingly is on the run from the law after his actions in the movie My Little Pony: A New Generation.) But Hitch insists he's fine on his own.
Once again ignoring his animal friends, Hitch investigates the scenes of the crimes all around town. The next morning he is shocked to find all the stolen goods in his own closet.
Zipp visits the police station again, this time discovering that Hitch has put himself in jail, believing himself to be the culprit. Zipp thinks it's a setup. She once again suggests that he gets a deputy to help him with his workload, and Hitch agrees it might be a good idea.
Investigating further, Hitch discovers the thieves: his own animal friends! They stole all the things that Hitch likes in an attempt to make him happy. Hitch apologizes for ignoring them and tells them they must return all the items, which they do. Since Hitch is a pony of the law, he also books them . . . presumably for a very short sentence.
