Just like the G4 comics, the G5 comics were created by IDW and each issue had multiple collectible covers.

40th Anniversary Special/Celebration

These issues contained three stories: "Friendship is Forever," "Tales of Dream Valley," and "Bonnie." Cover A, Cover B, and the Con Exclusive Cover were released in July 2023. A hardcover copy was released December 2023, known as the 40th Anniversary Celebration: Deluxe Edition.

Suggested retail for the soft cover issues was $8.99, and $19.99 for the hardcover.

ISBN for the hardcover is 979-8-88724-024-4.

Misty finds a device that she hopes will remove the ponies' magic and impress Opaline, but instead it turns everyone and everything in Maretime Bay black, white, and blue!

This one shot was released in March 2024 and consists of three stories: "Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow," "Hair Cut for Time," and "Izzy's Wash Day."
