Shining Armor appears in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and is introduced in "A Canterlot Wedding: Part 1", where he marries Princess Cadance. He is the brother of Twilight Sparkle, and is captain of the royal guard. He is shown the ability to use his unicorn magic to create large and extremely powerful force fields. He is shown to be very close to Twilight, though the two grow apart a bit when Twilight leaves for Ponyville. Later on, he assists Cadance as she rules over the Crystal Empire.
Shining Armor is voiced by Andrew Francis.

Shining Armor was included as a Blind Bag sized figurine in the Pony Wedding Set alongside Princess Cadance and Twilight Sparkle.

Shining Armor was released as a Fashion Style Sized Pony packaged with Princess Cadance. In addition to various wedding accessories, Shining Armor came with a military uniform that could be used to dress him.
