Trixie is introduced in Boast Busters as a traveling magician. She was capable of using her unicorn magic to perform a variety of magic tricks. However Trixie was a showoff and a braggart, claiming to have defeated an Ursa Major, and would humiliate those who challenged her. She was in some ways a rival to Twilight Sparkle, who proved to be more talented magically when Twilight defeated an Ursa Minor that Trixie failed to stop.
Trixie later appears in Magic Duel, where she challenges Twilight to a duel of magic out of a desire for revenge for Trixie's previous embarrassment. Strengthening Trixie is an Alicorn Amulet, which has the side effect of corrupting its user. Trixie is able to defeat Twilight and banishes her. Twilight is eventually able to return and trick Trixie into removing the Amulet herself, returning her back to normal. Trixie later assists in a demonstration Twilight is doing by magically creating fireworks, and humbly apologizes before leaving town.
