Equestria Girls
Equestria Girls is the name of a product line associated with Generation 4 of My Little Pony. The product line features the main characters of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, as teenage girls, with pony-like features. To promote the line, a full length movie, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, was released and featured Twilight Sparkle traveling to the human world after her Element of Magic tiara is stolen. The movie has an upcoming sequel, Equestria Girls 2: Rainbow Rocks, which will have music-themed dolls associated with it.

Movies
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, takes place sometime after the Season 3 finale, "Magical Mystery Cure". Twilight, and her friends travel to the the Crystal Empire where Twilight is to attend her first princess summit. Twilight is shown to be struggling with her new-found alicorn status, and the potential responsibilities of a princess. While Twilight is sleeping that night, a unicorn, Sunset Shimmer, comes and steals Twilight's crown, with the intention of replacing it with a fake. While Twilight discovers the attempt, she is unable to stop the unicorn from traveling through a mirror, actually a portal to another world, after the crown falls through it.
Twilight is forced to enter the other world to retriever her crown, as it is the element of Magic and key to the defense of Equestria. In the other world, Twilight becomes a teenage girl, and is must cope with her new body and lack of magic as she navigates the high school Sunset Shimmer attends. There, Twilight learns that to retrieve her crown, she must become Princess of the Fall Formal. Twilight then works with five girls who closely resemble her pony friends to win back her crown and return to Equestria. However, at the same time, she must deal with the machinations of Sunset Shimmer, who wants the Element of Magic in order to use its power to take over Equestria.
Equestria Girls 2: Rainbow Rocks
The second movie, Rainbow Rocks, is scheduled for release in Fall 2014. The main plot appears to revolve around the human versions of the Mane Six entering a band competition.
Merchandise
Merchandise for Equestria Girls largely takes the form of human dolls based on the Mane Six; supporting characters have also been released. The dolls are mostly humanoid, but retain several pony-like features: hair and skin colored to match their pony counterpart, pony ears, a longer lock of hair meant to resemble a a pony's tail, and in the case of dolls based on Pegasi or Alicorns, a pair of wings which attach to the back. On each doll's cheek is a marking based off of the individual pony's cutie mark. The dolls do not have feet; instead, the doll's shoes attach directly to connectors on the leg. A brush that looks like a stylized pony is included. Later dolls feature more joint articulation than earlier dolls.
Twilight Sparkle
Twilight was released in several forms. Her initial release featured a molded top and attachable skirt and wings. Another version was released as a two pack with Sunset Shimmer, and included earrings, Twilight's tiara, and a sticker sheet. A third version included an additional molded pony toy of Twilight Sparkle as an alicorn. The toy included a brushable tail, and featured a pattern on the front leg that resembled human Twilight's skirt pattern.
Spike

Sunset Shimmer was released both individually and in a two pack with Twilight Sparkle.
Fluttershy
The colors vary on these. There is one set with clear wings and others have purple wings. Also, the jewelry and purse accessories are sometimes pink, purple, or blue.
Pinkie Pie
Pinkie Pie was given several releases. The standard one comes with a molded top and attached skirt and a headband. A version was released as part of the Target-exclusive Pinkie Pie's Boutique line, which features black streaks in the hair and two outfits, largely black and pink.
Applejack
The earliest Applejack release featured a molded top with attached skirt, and a red hat.
Rarity
The earliest Rarity release featured a molded top and attached skirt and a pair of sunglasses.
Rainbow Dash
Rainbow Dash was released several times. One had no joint articulation, but came with longer hair, multiple barrettes, and clip in hair extensions, and a pair of attachable wings. Another release, a deluxe edition, could bend at the knees and elbows, and came with a two outfits, a pair of wings, a backpack, and a clip-in hair extension.
Celestia
Celestia was given a special release. In addition to her human doll, a molded pony figurine of her was included.
