From the catalog photos and early ads, it appears the Dance 'n Prance Ponies were originally meant to come in a variety of poses. However when they started producing them only one pose was used (probably easier to add the spinning mechanism). The pose was the Powder Pose, but then to add the feel of variety four of the six ponies lost their horn. This sky gazing earth pose was only used for the Dance 'n Prance ponies.
