Brush 'n Grow ponies have tails that can be pulled to a longer length and then drawn back into the ponies body by cranking her head from side to side.
There were two sets released during G1. The first is a six pony set released in Year Six (1987-1988), the second is a four pony set released in Year Seven (1988-1989). The second set were not just Brush 'n Grow Ponies, but Princess Brush 'n Grow Ponies. They got tinsel in their manes and 3-D jewels on their foreheads, both attributes reminiscent of the earlier Princess Ponies.
