Mail order items were available through the first three generations of My Little Pony and stopped late in G3. Points were collected from ponies and merchandise bought from stores, and then mailed in in exchange for the exclusive items.
The proof of purchase points were called Horseshoe Points during G1 and G2, and were called Pony Points during G3.
