Petal Blossom has been released as both a G2 and a G3.  As a G2, she was released in 1997 as a Secret Surprise pony, in 1999 as a Magic Motion pony. She was also advertised as being in an unreleased playset, the Fairytale Tower with Princess Petal Blossom.  As a G3, she was released three times as a Super-Long Hair pony: in 2004 by herself, in 2004 with [[Baby Flower Flash]], and in 2005 as part of the Picnic Playset

Petal Blossom, Display Side

Petal Blossom was first released in 1997 as part of the Secret Surprise Friends set. She shares a name and likeness with G3 Super Long Hair Pony Petal Blossom. Petal Blossom has a total of two standard releases and an unproduced playset that was advertised in some G2 pamphlets.


Secret Surprise Friends Petal Blossom has two variants – one row of mane plugs and two rows of mane plugs – like all other 1997 ponies except Light Heart. In the UK, she was sometimes sold with a "free gift" sheet of 60 nail stickers attached to her backcard. There are also variations of her USA backcard – one that lists Kenner as the manufacturer and another that lists Hasbro. The text remains the same with some slight differences in typography.


Magic Motion Friends Petal Blossom, released in 1999, is the only Magic Motion Friends Pony that does not actually have a Magic Motion, despite the Petal Blossom featured on her backcard having Magic Motion A. This prototype was later found on the secondhand market.


The Fairytale Tower playset was featured in a 2000 pamphlet alongside the Giggle Garden Nursery and Enchanted Throne, but it was never produced for unknown reasons. The prototype featured in the pamphlet also has not yet been found.
