G4 TV and Movies encompass all forms of animated media related to G4. Much like Generation 1, G4 ponies are primarily featured in a TV series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, often abbreviated as MLP: FiM. Also included is the feature-length movie, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

As of 2019, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic covers nine seasons for a total of 221 episodes. The show largely revolves around six ponies: Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy. Twilight Sparkle is a Unicorn who is tasked with studying the magic of friendship by Princess Celestia. Twilight and her five friends are also wielders of the Elements of Harmony, a collective group of artifacts that represent the most powerful magic in ponydom.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic varies from previous Pony media by featuring male ponies in addition to female ponies. In addition, the show introduced Category: G4 Pegasus Unicorn Ponies, also referred to as Alicorn Ponies, and reintroduced antagonistic characters. The show holds a wide fanbase, which ranges from young girls to teenage and adult men, and has been praised for its high quality writing and animation.
