Megan and Sundance were released three times in G1 in the US, there were also different international versions.
Megan is the My Little Ponies' human friend. She appears frequently in the shows and movies. Sundance was a very important pony. In G1 she was Megan's one special pony, and as toys they were released together.

US Backcard Story
Everyday is a "sunny side up" day to Megan and Sundance! Brave and beautiful Megan and her spirited pony Sundance love to go where the rainbow takes them... in search of new friends and exciting adventures!
The colorful rainbow reaches down and then carries them up, up... all the way up to the Dream Castle. While visiting all their pony friends, Megan and Sundance enjoy sharing fun stories and good times.
Media Appearances
Sundance starred in the second My Little Pony Special, "Escape From Catrina", in which she was voiced by Laura Dean.
She also featured in the My Little Pony Movie.
So Soft Megan and Sundance
Megan and Sundance were released for a second time in Year Four (1985-1986) with so soft Sundance. This pony is the same as the first release just with the added flocking.

Twice As Fancy Megan and Sundance
Megan and Sundance were released for the third and final time in Year Seven (1988-1989) with a twice as fancy version of Sundance. Megan was also remodeled with a different face and bigger head.

Sundance was re-released in 1989 as a Twice as Fancy Pony. She also has hair that changes colour in the sun, like the Sunshine Ponies.

UK Megan and Sundance (First Release)
The UK Sundance looked identical to the first version sold in the US, however the pack did not contain a bridle for the pony and Megan's outfit was significantly different.

UK Megan and Sundance (Second Release)
The second release came with new outfits for Megan and Sundance, with Megan's similar to what she wore in the My Little Pony Movie. These clothes had been sold separately in the US as part of the Megan and Pony Wear range, under the name Country Jamboree however in the UK no Megan and Pony Wear packs were ever sold.
