− | + | My Little Pony Fair and Convention was an annual collector-run event from 2004 to 2022 celebrating My Little Pony. Worldwide collectors of all pony generations gathered together for one weekend each year to buy, sell, and trade, attend educational panels, and meet influential people throughout My Little Pony's 40-year history. While there are many fan-sponsored events worldwide, such as UK PonyCon and many Friendship Is Magic-centered events, the focus of this page is the US Pony Fair.

+ | Hasbro provided Fair staff with 400 leftover Mail Order Love Wishes ponies to be given as that year's exclusive pony. The ponies were cleaned of their Love Wishes cutie marks and laser-engraved with new, San Francisco-related cutie marks; there were two different ponies created. Frisco was limited to 150 total figures and featured the Golden Gate Bridge in her cutie mark. Trolley was limited to 100 figures, available for purchase through random draw from the pool of collectors who had also purchased Frisco. She featured one of San Francisco's famed trolleys in her cutie mark. Due to the overwhelming popularity and 11-hour sell-out of these ponies, a second wave of 50 unnumbered Trolley ponies was released for collectors to purchase through MLP Fair-sponsored auctions.
+ | |||
+ | Ponies that were damaged during the engraving process were provided to a group of 24 collectors to customize for what they were led to believe would a Pony Fair-sponsored "disaster relief" project. They were displayed at the 2007 Memphis MLP Fair. The project was to include a coffee table book of high-quality photographs of all of the customs and a raffle or auction of the ponies themselves. It was later explained that proceeds would be used to fund future MLP Fairs. Many lovely customs were created; however, the project itself never came to fruition and it would be a couple of years before the fallout was resolved.

+ | The fifth annual My Little Pony Fair and Collector's Convention took place on Saturday and Sunday, June 21st and 22nd at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The theme was My Little Pony Comes Home: Celebrating 25 Years. The "mascot" is a G1 Collector Pony silhouette designed by WingedFantasy. She was featured either in white on a black background or in black against a rainbow of colors representing the original six Collector Ponies. This year, Hasbro more extensively engaged with the Pony Fair and collecting community.

+ | A tour of Hasbro Headquarters in Pawtucket, Rhode Island was offered to a pre-registered group of collectors on Friday, June 20th. Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony Live: World's Biggest Tea Party was on hand to greet guests and take pictures. The tour group was shown how MLP toys go from concept to reality, featuring the creation of the Sweet Sundae Amusement Park. After the toy presentation, MLP creator Bonnie Zacherle gave a presentation on the creation of the line. She brought her original MLP models, and Hasbro displayed many original MLP art pieces. Each tour guest received a "swag bag" containing a pony from the upcoming "Core 7 Best Friends" line and a silver 25th anniversary pin.

+ | The sixth annual My Little Pony Fair and Collector's Convention returned to Las Vegas, Nevada, location of the very first MLP Fair, and took place at The Orleans Hotel on June 20th and 21st. The mascot remained the same as the previous year, with a similar logo. Event organizers announced this year that the MLP Fair would be permanently located in Las Vegas and return to Rhode Island in anniversary years (30th, 35th, and so on). After much controversy and public outcry, the decision to keep the Fair in the same location was reversed when event leadership changed hands after this year's event.
+ | |||
+ | Hasbro was again present at this year's Fair, bringing Pony Project-sized ponies of the fair exclusive and Junko Mizuno's project pony. Giveaways included a DVD preview of the G3.5 movie Twinkle Wish Adventure.

She featured an Egyptian-inspired design and was sold to attendees at the event then later offered for sale in the My Little Pony Fair online store. This is the last year that Hasbro produced a figure exclusive to the MLP Fair. It is also the last year that a G3 art pony would serve as an event exclusive. From 2012-2016, the MLP Fair would receive a designated amount of San Diego Comic Con exclusive G4 figures to be offered as a sort of pre-sale for the west coast pop culture event.

+ | The 2017 My Little Pony Fair and Collector's Convention was merged, along with many other Hasbro toy-related conventions, into Hasbro's self-proclaimed "Premier FANmily Event." The event occurred September 8-10 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This would have been the MLP Fair's 14th year. HASCON featured interactive brand experiences for fans of its various active toy lines, including My Little Pony, Transformers, Nerf, and more.
+ | |||
+ | It was originally announced that the My Little Pony Fair would still take place as its own event to which MLP collectors had become accustomed within HASCON, but Hasbro abandoned those plans very late into the event planning stage. Collectors unable to attend the event this year were again able to purchase "supporting memberships" through the Pony Fair store. This year, supporters received the 2019 Pony Fair t-shirt and/or the 2019 Pony Fair pin, based on their contribution amounts.

My Little Pony Fair and Convention was an annual collector-run event from 2004 to 2022 celebrating My Little Pony.

2004 - Las Vegas, Nevada
The first annual My Little Pony Fair was coordinated by online community members Wildfire, WingedFantasy, and Mavrica. It took place on August 2nd and 3rd at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. The official mascot was designed by Cardinal Melody.
(Beginning in 2001, August 2nd was designated International Pony Day in the online collecting community.[1] It is unknown whether or not this played a factor in event date selection.)

Hasbro provided Fair staff with 400 leftover Mail Order Love Wishes ponies to be given as that year's exclusive pony.
Ponies that were damaged during the engraving process were provided to a group of 24 collectors to customize for what they were led to believe would a Pony Fair-sponsored "disaster relief" project.
2007 - Memphis, Tennessee
The fourth annual My Little Pony Fair and Collector's Convention took place July 28th and 29th at the Memphis Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. The theme was "A Musical Journey," and this year's mascot and logo pony was "Memphis Melody" by teera-misu.

My Little Pony Fair shared its exclusive this year with UK PonyCon, supplying them with 300 ponies from the run of 1,000. From 2007-2011, the MLP Fair purchased its own full factory run of the exclusive pony directly from Hasbro.
2008 - Providence, Rhode Island
The fifth annual My Little Pony Fair and Collector's Convention took place on Saturday and Sunday, June 21st and 22nd at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
A tour of Hasbro Headquarters in Pawtucket, Rhode Island was offered to a pre-registered group of collectors on Friday, June 20th.

Hasbro brought a few Pony Project ponies to the Fair this year, including Twinkle Hope, Providence, and Catalina Estrada's pony, as well as more original art and sample pieces. They also provided collectors with a look at upcoming products during their Q&A presentation. Kirk Hindman brought many prototypes and models, as well as a Collector Pony factory mold, and developing Hasbro sculptor Grace Garcia demonstrated her skills live at the Fair by sculpting a pony head.
Sterling Silver Pony (25 five-inch sterling silver ponies, created by Ingrid Dragotta[6], were also created. Owners of the standard-sized ponies are currently unknown.)

The exclusive pony this year, named "Providence," featured a swirl design with "Providence," "MLP Fair," and "'08" in the heart at her rump. UK PonyCon received the same pony that year in an alternate black and yellow color scheme, minus the words "Providence" and "MLP Fair." That pony is known as "Sunny Grace" or "Bumblebee."
2009 - Las Vegas, Nevada
The sixth annual My Little Pony Fair and Collector's Convention returned to Las Vegas, Nevada, location of the very first MLP Fair, and took place at The Orleans Hotel on June 20th and 21st.
Hasbro was again present at this year's Fair, bringing Pony Project-sized ponies of the fair exclusive and Junko Mizuno's project pony. Giveaways included a DVD preview of the G3.5 movie Twinkle Wish Adventure.

2017 - Providence, Rhode Island
The 2017 My Little Pony Fair and Collector's Convention was merged, along with many other Hasbro toy-related conventions, into Hasbro's self-proclaimed "Premier FANmily Event." The event occurred September 8-10 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This would have been the MLP Fair's 14th year. HASCON featured interactive brand experiences for fans of its various active toy lines, including My Little Pony, Transformers, Nerf, and more.
It was originally announced that the My Little Pony Fair would still take place as its own event to which MLP collectors had become accustomed within HASCON, but Hasbro abandoned those plans very late into the event planning stage. HASCON has been on hiatus since the inaugural event, and Pony Fair has since moved on without Hasbro involvement. In relation to the My Little Pony brand, events were as follows:
