Clever Clover, Display Side

Clever Clover was first released in 1997 as part of the Secret Surprise Friends set and is the first male G2 character. Other than being designated male by Hasbro, he has no different features than female G2s, as G1 male characters before him did.

Secret Surprise Friends Clever Clover has two variants – one row of mane plugs and two rows of mane plugs – like all other 1997 ponies except Light Heart. In the UK, he was sometimes sold with a "free gift" sheet of 60 nail stickers attached to his backcard. There are also variations of his USA backcard – one that lists Kenner as the manufacturer and another that lists Hasbro. The text remains the same with some slight differences in typography.

Clever Clover was released a second time in 1999 as part of a two-pony Royal Friends set with Morning Glory, in which he is called Prince Clever Clover. He features the G2 royalty designation of tinsel in his hair and has a cold water-activated symbol feature.

Clever Clover’s final G2 release in 2001 sees both a name and symbol change. He becomes Prince Fauna, again with tinsel in hair, and now has a silver clover symbol. He has a magnet in his nose that activates Princess Flora’s speech feature when his nose touches the heart on her cheek.
