Year Two introduced the enhancement of children’s engagement with the My Little Pony world with the release of pony playsets. New My Little Pony playsets (and occasionally recolored versions of older sets) were released each year through the end of the G1 era. While many of the playsets are featured in the TV series and movie, the included pony often is not.

Year Two (1983-1984)
Year Two was a big year for playsets. All four releases include a pony and a small pony friend.
Dream Castle is the ponies’ home in Rescue at Midnight Castle/Firefly's Adventure, Escape from Catrina, and My Little Pony: The Movie (1986) (until it is Smoozed), but Majesty is not featured at all.
Year Three (1984-1985)
- Baby Cuddles came with the Baby Buggy
- Baby Tiddly Winks came with the Lullabye Nursery
Year Four (1985-1986)
- Baby Half Note came with the Baby Bonnet School of Dance
- Baby Sleepy Pie came with the Pony Purse
Year Five (1986-1987)
- Fifi came with Perm Shoppe
- Scoops came with Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe
- Baby Crumpet came with Pony Purse
