Reissue Ponies

From My Little Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

This page is focused on reissue ponies based on Generation 1 ponies. They are imitative new releases of ponies that were first published in the 1980s.
Also words "retro" (retrospective) and "repro" (reproduction) are often associated with these releases.

The first reissue ponies were published for the 25th Anniversary of My Little Pony and the manufacturer was Hasbro.

For the 35th anniversary of My Little Pony, Hasbro licensed out the rights to the G1 characters to Basic Fun, who created reissues of Generation 1 ponies. For releases past 2018, all boxes simply say "Classic".

Please note! These 6 photos of loose ponies are the first official stock photos from Basic Fun for this set. Nevertheless, the ponies in these first pictures are not reproduction ponies. They are original ponies from the 1980s instead. In other words, these photos are misleading and they should not be used for identification of reproduction ponies.
